I am the world's blindest and biggest... um... jerk.

I am completely stupid and blind. I feel like I am a complete failure and I have disgraced and ashamed God 110% out of 100%. I thought that Hellboy was a Christian supportive movie when I first saw it, but upon my parents seeing it with me I really found out how many demonic things were in it. I feel like the universe's biggest [Admin Snip, Again] (other than Satan and co. of course). I usually seem to have fair descernment on things, and I am willing to turn away and drop Hellboy all-together, just like that, without any hesitation, but I still feel guilty as [Admin snip]. You can also see my "need serious Hellboy movie advice" thread in the "in the spotlight" section, look at my more recent post(s) for a bit more. In the meantime, pray for me please, that maybe this eye-less muel will turn into a person and grow a functioning brain. thanks.

I'll pray for you, but don't beat yourself up too much. I think all of us have made poor judgement calls in the past. I sure have. But that's the wonder of Christianity-- when you find yourself on the wrong road, God's always ready to welcome you back (how's that for mixing metaphors  ).

May God bless you and bring you peace :thumb:

Don't worry matie... I read your thread and it seems that hardly anyone had anything to say against it, or warn you about. View it more as a lesson not to take everything at face value, or watch something simply because Christian friends recommend it. It's a lesson I've had to go through and it has made me alot more aware of things out there that aren't noticed by many, or dismissed by some as entertainment.

Btw, don't feel bad. Instead, ask God to forgive you for watching that film, and thank Him for revealing what was wrong and increasing your discernment. Don't feel like an idiot either... it happens to everyone. It may feel like you are being damned by everything you do, but really God is just working in your life, showing you areas that need changing and helping you to change them.

Anyway, I hope that made sense. I'll pray for you, that God will take away your feeling of guilt and help you to grow in due season. :thumb:

Hey, c'mon! We all make serious mistakes.
Proverbs 24:16a "for though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again,"
I've done the same thing with a couple of different movies.

Look, if you're that upset, just repent and get over it. Forgive yourself, too! God still loves you no matter how bad you blow it. :)
I hope this helps you. I will pray for you though.

Ok...how does watching Hellboy make you a failure??

thanks, that does help alot, and after talking a bit with my family I feel better too. ;)

Sesshoumaru: I felt like one because that movie has some extremely obvious stuff that clashes with my Christian beliefs, as you know (from conversations such as the one we are having at JPA) I am very serious and pretty strict about my beliefs, being a Christian is something I never take lightly, I am very proud and passionate about my faith and salvation. So with me I usually see a dead end coming, I may look into it by praying on it and asking about it to Christian friends such as you all, but usually I will, from doing so, know whether to do something or not. In this case, I didn't. With Blade (other superhero) I fought with it a long time, but I know it isn't something I should be involved with. Ghost Rider was a little less painful, I heard the Holy Spirit tell me to drop him one night, and I did. End of story. The thing is too, it makes the situation harder when you have actually seen the movie or something and grown attatched and got excited to some degree, than you have to kill it. Mark my words, I will kill this, but I just hope I don't go through a whole mess of temptations and struggles and questions before it detaches. I guess, as good as my descernment usually is, I still need help sometimes, in this case, I would still be thinking Hellboy was supportive to my faith if it weren't for my family seeing the movie too. My mom and dad especially pointed out the bad stuff that I never noticed. I wish my parents would get on this forum and list some of the stuff to explain (because I know that, with my low-level of skill with words, I'll never make any sense). Oh well.

Thanks again all!! ^_^

Crossdive this is the last time I am going to warn you about watching your mouth. I could care less if you think the words are offensive. Keep a clean mouth on this board. I find it funny you are panicking over a movie you saw, then in the same line ignoring the Bible quote "Swear neither by heaven nor by hell nor anything inbetween" This is not up to debate either. Don't think your barb was not noticed on the other thread.

Hey Crossdive, I'm not sure exactly what to say, like so often, but I do want to say that even the apostle Paul had his thorn in his flesh; and he even said something like 'that which I do not want to do, I do, and that which I do not want to do, I do,' along with 'wretched man that I am,' I think. Or perhaps that 'wretched man that I am' was from the Pilgrim's progress movie... I forget. I guess what I'm trying to explain is that we all stumble, but have to get up again, as Ssjjvash said. If you're like me, you feel so bad over that one thing you did; but though it's good you recognise these things, the great guilty feeling shouldn't be one that you should let last, if you can help it. Everything is okay now; you're forgiven by acknowledging it before God and asking for forgiveness, you are forgiven.
I don't know about you, but for me, I struggle with feeling bad over the smallest mistakes. Yet I know that it is okay; it is true that we are washed in Christ's blood and made clean. That's why we can begin fresh each day. So even though you made a mistake, it is all right. You have a new page to begin on, and to God he shoves all our blemishes off the cliff into the sea of forgetfulness and remembers them no more. So even though you may feel really guilty, God's already forgiven you; maybe like I think someone else before me said, you just need to forgive yourself. As long as you've asked God for forgiveness, you are forgiven; so despite the guilty feelings maybe you just need to push what you're feeling guilty about off into the sea of forgetfulness too.

Sorry if I repeated myself a lot in there; I just want to say something helpful, but often my words seem to get messed up in the journey from my heart and memory to my hands, and to typing. And I doubt I'm 100% right, but I hope this post helped a little.

Firstly, let me say congratulations for being so open to correction and advice from your parents. Alot of people I know ignore these small pieces of wisdom because they think that their parents are just trying to control them, where in reality they mostly just want to help you along in life. :thumb:

Also, its absolutely awesome that you are so open to the Holy Spirit, and that you are willing to sacrifice and completely do away with anything that you are convicted about. Not many people are willing to do this (i've struggled with it myself quite a bit, esp the FF games and such), but the benefit of doing so far out-weighs the temporary pleasure of the thing in question.

Crossdive this is the last time I am going to warn you about watching your mouth. I could care less if you think the words are offensive. Keep a clean mouth on this board. I dont mean to sound rude or anything Shatterheart, but maybe you could ease off a little bit. Everyone has certain habits that aren't pleasing to God, but that doesnt mean we should bash them for it. I noticed that Crossdive has been editing his posts, saying 'heck' instead of 'hell'. Maybe you should offer encouragement, like 'well done mate for doing that, but you accidentally missed one there' instead of 'this is the last time I'm going to warn you' and implying that he is being hypocritical for being convicted of a movie he saw but not his 'swearing'.
Don't take this as an attack matie, but seriously, Crossdive has been improving.

*blank face* Ok....you really enjoyed Hellboy (as did I). You thought it was supportive of your faith (no offense to you but I didn't see that), your folks watched it with you and pointed out the bad stuff (what bad stuff??), and now you feel you dishonored God because of all this........umm I don't see the connection.

And by obvious stuff you mean like Hellboy being the son of the Devil??

Actually he was asked nicely on one thread, where he did yes censor himself. Then, within an hour he did the same thing again. The point still stands, people will watch how they speak. Just because your going through stuff does not justify this.

I think you all have some serious authority issues. Fact: Shatterheart is the admin. here on his site and although you all want to help out little Crossdive, he has been warned.

Please, pray for Crossdive and his issues and then let's get on with it. Let Shatterheart do his job as the admin. okay?

I'll be praying for you Crossdive and your parents. They definitely handle things a lot differently than me - which is fine. They are YOUR parents. ^____^ And, we should listen to our parents.

As a member of the Prayer Guardians, I feel obligated to ask everyone to please settle your differences through PM or other personal means, and not here anymore.

Enough PLEASE, we don't want any further distractions to those who are praying.

Sesshoumaru: Maybe I will explain through PM, just to avoid and other problems, which I feel I am becoming a magnet for.

thanks for the support everyone, I really appreciate it.

Shatterheart: I actually think I posted this thread first, either way, that was before I got your reply in the one thread, so I wouldn't have known. I don't usually speak even slightly out of 'slang' or whatever, it's just in a case like that where I was so deeply troubled by it I couldn't have cared less if I wasn't speaking in my softest tone of voice. It's not a normal thing for me to do. Granted I used hell in a slang manner or whatever but I didn't actually use a curse word at least (just looking for a peaceful way to tone everyone down and look at the positive side and "well, could've been worse" kind of thing). I understand you are only trying to help, but that makes me feel really lowly when I am in the middle of a bad situation and instead of offering comfort I got warned for something. I just want you to try and consider how I feel and how you would want people to treat you in the same case.

Thanks all, I hope this thread doesn't get locked or something because I will probably need to look to this incase of a future struggle with this whole event. ;)

STREWTH!!! Maties, I didn't mean my post to turn into a 'let's bash Shatterheart for being insensitive' session. I understand that he is a mod, and hence has alot of responsibilities. In fact, he PM'd me his perspective on the situation, and I now get where he is coming from. As such, I shan't comment any further on this topic :P

Anywho, I'll continue praying for ya matie. Remember, it doesn't matter if others think this is an alright movie; if you have been convicted on it then follow through with the Holy Spirit. Trust me, you'll be alot better off than if you didn't ;)

*sighs* Children, children this is not worth it. Settle this another way or drop it. We're Christians, remember? We should all behave like it- all of us. Everyone here. Crossdive has a problem, let us pray for him. He cussed, let's pray for that too. And he has been warned. Let those who know what they're doing do it. They have been trusted with much so adhere to them. Be gentle, kind and loving- ALL of you admins too. Remember who we are.

Gosh...

Anyway, so what?! I thought Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was cool, until I found out about all the Ninja religious elements in it. Even so, I really don't care, Movies are Movies, not all of them are out to brainwash you into another religion.

Of course we are subliminally programmed everyday without noticing, so don't be so hard on yourself.

Obviously Crossdive takes a different viewpoint]totally[/B] and continue on with the thread topic?
Edit: I'm not picking on anyone when I say this, its just that the issue has been resolved. There is no more need to discuss it.
Edit x2: Actually, come to think of it... there has been alot of fighting recently. Perhaps we should create a new thread in the PR to call everyone to pray for it.

Well, apparently that isn't the case here. :shady:
I'm getting the emails of my friends and then I'm out of here. This is absolutely ridiculous. I don't care how someone has messed up in the past, we're supposed to support them in their time of need. It's a little thing that God called us to do for all people, which is forgiveness. Even if one does not realize the wrong he has done, we should forgive him as Christ forgave us. On that note, Crossdive, you're not a bad guy at all. Don't beat yourself up for watching that movie, we all make mistakes. Just be careful of what you watch, and if you watch something controversial then have discernment about it. Don't ever think you're a bad Christian.

Also Crossdive, you can give me your email if you want. I'm going to be leaving soon so just feel free to talk if you want. Also, mine is Tobias_Lane80@hotmail.com

Well, I'm going to get my emails and then make my exit. It kind of amazes me that CAA has turned into this, but it's not really my problem anymore. I hope that all of you will always have a personal and productive relationship with God. If you want to, or feel like you should, please pray for me. Also, email me if you need prayer, I'll be glad to help. Toodles.

I'll be praying for you Mr. Ross. Please don't leave! I agree. We need to build each other up - the body of Christ, encourage each other in our walk of faith with Jesus. Seriously having brothers and sisters in Christ by your side (whether online or offline) does help!

Thanks... ^_^

But I'm sorry, I've made my decision. The negative and sometimes judgmental atmosphere here is kinda getting out of control, so I feel it would be best for me to go elsewhere. If you want, you can always email me at the address I posted. I'll be praying for you, too.

God Bless you!!!

You immaturity is a small issue you need to focus on. Nobody is fighting. An Admin posted that the rules will be followed. This is quite fine, considering rules were broken. There was nothing anti-Christian about what I wrote or how I wrote it. You have had an issue with the staff for a while. That, would be a fact. So, if your leaving, ta-ta. I hope you find a site that suits you better. As for this thread...Everyone should continue to pray for Crossdive. Somtimes forgiving yourself is harder then forgiving others. Other then that, take further comments to PM or email.
