The bill to prevent Terri Schiavo's feeding tube from being removed has passed. A Christian man, leading the opposition to this bill, got up in front of our elected officials and pleaded with the members of Congress to let Terri be with God. But now, because of a few men who want to use one individual, and one family's struggle, for political and religious gain, while they have ignored those who are starving, those who are poor, those who are probably, at this very moment, being tortured by corrupt members of our military, the government has intervened to tell us that God doesn't want a woman to have peace.

Frankly, this makes me sick. Our government is making us keep alive a woman whose cerebral cortex has been liquified. A woman who needs a tube to stay alive. A woman who has to sit, a prisoner of her own mind that has all but faded away, in her own excretement every single day while she wastes into nothing. Why, God? Why has God allowed our human "leaders" to let this happen? Why has he let people do this in his name?

Sadly, I have no answer. All I can ask is that this not be a political debate. Whether you are in support or are in opposition to this bill, just please be praying for Terri, for her husband and parents, and for our nation.

I know that this thread will be locked. Heck, I might even be banned for making this post. But at least I have the knowledge that God knows that I care about this issue. I'm sure many of you do here, as well. Please, just pray that this will be resolved, and pray that God's will can be worked, whatever it is.

As long as posts remain strictly to that effect, this thread can stay open. However, any *further* commentary on the morality of the situation will cause it to be closed, and other appropriate action taken.

Do you even understand that this woman - with therapy, could actually recover mobility and speech? She said "I WAA" after the feeding tube was removed. She responds to simple commands. Her eyes move and watch motion! (I saw video of her). Her family wants her to live! Her Husband wants her to die... Her Husband who is LIVING WITH ANOTHER WOMAN HE HAS KIDS WITH BUT IS NOT DIVORCED FROM TERRI... WANTS HER DEAD! She hasn't just been propped up for the sake of things, she's been put away as far out of the way as possible so she can be killed like a dog.

I can't believe God would want her staved to death as an act of "compassion." I know testimony of a woman who was like Terri... and she said she could think and feel, she just couldn't do anything to respond. Her Husband was the only person fighting for her. She said it HURT when they removed her feeding tube. Now she stands as a Testament to God's Healing Power, a Living Mirical.

Don't think this is Unilateral action. God has his Purposes, and you may not like how things look, but the LORD will work His Will, weather we like it or not.

I'm sorry, I just don't think you understand how important this is. If Terri dies, who else will they kill? People with brain damage can still live and live well. Shall we put down the elderly because they can't control their bladders? Or who need walking machines to get around because it's inconvenient? Children are aborted for the sake of convenience, and so too, Terri's husband (Who Probably Put Her in the state she's in now I might add), is trying to have her Killed for his own purposes. That is EVIL.

Don't tell me it's not a matter of Right or Wrong. We as Christians are to be COMMITTED To the Truth.

The truth?

I said at the end of my post to just pray, whatever your position on this is. YOU are the one that deliberately made this into a debate. Quite frankly, I am utterly sick of individuals like yourself telling us how to think on social issues. A Christian man got up in front of Congress and pleaded to let Terri go and be with God. Her cerebral cortex is liquefying, for crying out loud. Also, just because someone blinks or makes noises doesn't mean they have emotions or can feel pain. A decaying corpse (not that this is what Terri is) can make noises, so what is your point?

With the exception of a few, this place is starting to disgust me. And Sonic Rose, it is people like YOU that have made me nearly lose my faith on several occasions. I do NOT appreciate this one bit, and many of my friends can tell you that I have been trying my hardest to do what's right for God. Thank you, and GOOD NIGHT.

you both need to calm down. You're posting the wrong things in the wrong forum for one thing. It's true, these are big issues, but in the prayer forum we've already agreed in another thread to pray about it. Why create another thread that was aimed to start debate, which I know it was?
I wish a mod would close this now.

I only just now saw that.

And how DARE you accuse me of not being a Christian.

I have been trying my best to be God's son for a while now. I have seen who God really is and I have longed so much to be with him. Yet people like you are trying to keep me from him. My urge to say the same quote back to YOU is very strong, but I will refrain from doing so, and I will ask God right now to forgive me for my anger.

However, that doesn't change the fact that you have just personally insulted me. I have made the claim that you and your boyfriend have been doing some things that I don't agree with, but I have not ONCE made the accusation that either of you are non-Christian. I am now fully convinced that while I can possibly trust God, there are not many of the "members" of his church on earth that I can put my trust in.

I agree, we just need to take it easy. There is no need to debate anyside, nothing will get solved that way. To be honest, this issue is out of our hands and in the hands of God. I pray not only for the woman but her family and friends. I pray God's will be done.

Hold on, hold on! This is just getting way out of hand. Anyone, if you want to do the most good, just stop fighting right now and PRAY. Thread closed!

People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.
