Golden_Griff is feeling dull

Hey guys.

I've been very disappointed at myself lately, because I'm not working like I really want to. I'm here at CAA when at this very moment I'm suppose to be getting homework done. :bootout:

It's like I have no zeal for school anymore. I feel as if all of my hard work counts for nothing. I feel like if I didn't have to have good grades to keep my scholarships I would do just enough to get by, if that much.

Spring Break was last week, and I really thought that I would come back feeling renewed and able to handle my business. Well it just seems like things are going the total opposite. It seems like everytime I say "I'm going to get this done Monday" I'm up Thursday night at 12 am trying to get crap done anyway.

I'm trying to keep the faith and trying to stay focused on God to give me strength, but it's like WHEN WILL I EVER QUIT PROCRASTINATING AND GET MY BUTT IN GEAR??!! :mutter: :bang:

I've done so well in school this far, I don't want to screw up now :(

By the way things are looking tonight...ugh...

~G_G

PS: While I'm here, I might as well ask that you lift my father up in your prayers. He's going into surgery at some point to fix his anerysm. But apparently it's not an easy task for the local doctors around here, because the local personal sent him to another hospital like 2 hours from here. And the procedure those people are planning to do is experimental. Sigh...

I feel the same way you do about school at the moment... I really have the intention of doing things, but I just end up procrastinating. I dont' want to, but I just do... So yeah, I can totally relate.

Anyways, I will pray for you. It's an all too common feeling for many of us. I'll will also pray that your fathers surgery goes well.

oi, i am a slacker as well. it might not work for you, but i would "ground myself" from tv, internet games and EVEN ANIME >_< until i got assignments done. like, do some design for an hour, watch an episode of anime or something. read a chapter of something and do the questions, go online for half an hour. discipline sucks. well not really, but it sure is freakin hard to establish.

so yeah, maybe that might work for you. at any rate, ill pray that God helps ya focus on school stuff and finish strong

*hugs Golden_Griff*

You'll be alright, I'll pray for you to get your work done and for you and your father to be strong and successful both your work and your fathers surgery.

Well, who doesn't procrastinate? pfffft Nobody does, it's normal, we all like to do our little things before we get our work done, it's the confidence we have to gather to overcome procrastination and get our...stewff...done early. (little comedy to bring up the spirits)

If that doesn't...here's something that will make you laugh:

(((((((( (>'-')> ok...gotta study...gotta study...

^(^o^)^ I'm hungry!

<(^-^<) )))))) can't study on an empty stomach hehe...

(>^o^<) *munch munch munch*

(((((((((((((( (>'-')> ok...study time...

^(^o^)^ *gasp* Trigun is on!

m(o_o)m *intently watching*
*show's over*

(((((((((((((((((((((( (>'-')> better hit the books...

(v-.-)v I'm seepy...think i'll take a nap for a little bit...

_( -.-)_zzzzzzzzz

_( ;;o.o)_ *SNAK*

_( -.-)_ how long was I aseep?

_( O_O)_ !!!!!!!!

\(*O*)/ AAAACK! I'LL BE LATE FOR CLASS!!!

*puff*

_( o.o)_ *SNAK*
( >.<) *rubs eyes*
_( o.o)/☺ huh? a dream? what time is it?

Moral: Don't procrastinate or you'll go insane and bash into walls in the morning.

CephasVII, that was funny. XD

G_G, first of all, I'll remember your father in my prayers. Hope all goes well.

As for procrastination, here are some suggestions.

1) Have a schedule where you write down things to do on a daily basis. Scratch it out when you're done. Push it over if you don't. Seeing things visually will help push you towards getting rid of that pesky thing-to-do from your planner.

2) Treat yourself with something nice AFTER you accomplish your work. It's self motivation hehehe

Hope things helps! Take care and God bless.

*hug* I wish I could offer you some advice, but I'm suffering from the same thing at the moment. But I'll be sure to keep you in my prayers, Griff.

Sometimes this helps me:

Get a piece of paper, write down a good, workable list of things to do for the next day and when that day comes, be in competition with yourself to see how much you can get done. And maybe try to set a record for yourself in time or amount.

Just a thought. I'll keep praying for you and your dad.

Thanks ya'll. I appreciate your suggestions.

I was semi-depressed this morning because I was thinking "ugh, what am I here for anyway? It does no good to attend class if my assignments aren't done." I even cried a little bit because I felt so...I can't even find the word for it--worthless I guess ( ._.) But it's good to have people for support (you guys! )

And that's what I find so strange about this situation: my computer is busted so obviously that's not a distraction anymore. Yet for some reason I sit around in my room for 3 hours doing nothing but staring at page 482 of my art history book with my head in my hand.

It's important, but I really don't like school]*hug* I wish I could offer you some advice, but I'm suffering from the same thing at the moment. But I'll be sure to keep you in my prayers, Griff.[/QUOTE]

I've read your thread Kokoro. It's interesting how very similiar our situations are. Besides not knowing where the next turn will take me, I've been a lot stronger in my faith life as well. It's just this dumb school thing that's bothering me :bang: (well it's not dumb but you know). It's funny how all last week I was trying to encourage someone else to press on in their studies, and now look at me: I need help myself! :eh:

I appreciate your concern everyone. Now that the day is over I feel a little better. Anyway, it's time for Griff to sign out again.

I feel for you, G_G. In the sophomore slump. I was there from my third semester through my 6th. You'll get through it, just keep plugging away.

Well, I had another depression on Wednesday ( ._.) I was really disappointed because I really thought that I was going to get my reading assignment done to a point of satisfaction. But in essence, I only got two pages read out of 50 :bang:

But things are a little better now. We have our one day out tomorrow for Easter, which I'm looking forward to. I'm gonna do my best to catch up on things this weekend. And I pray that I'll finally be able to move out of Backwardsville :shake: (for the past two and a half weeks everything seemed to happen in the exact opposite of what I was hoping for).

In the midst of my situation(s) I've come to believe that I'm just going through trials of some sort. I just gotta keep the faith and remember what God has done and will be doing for me.
