Being hard on myself...

Postby Kkun » Sat Mar 19, 2005 6:05 am

This is really really really stupid, but it has me kind of bummed out so I just wanted to put this on here.

Basically, though, there's this girl and I kind of had a crush on her (it's stupid already, it gets worse) and I tried to talk to her (bad move) and make conversation and it went well for a few minutes, but overall, I feel like I was completely awkward and now I'm beating myself up really bad (yeah. This is the worst story ever).

So, if you take the time to pray for me, just, please pray that I'll stop being hard on myself and beating myself up. Nothing really bad happened and it's all in my head. I've already decided that I'm going to stop thinking about it and all I really want now is a sense of peace.

Thanks.

No prayer request is ever too small or too stupid, aku. *huggles* I'll pray for you to gain a sense of peace.

I guarantee you it looks worse to you than it did to her. We scrutinize our own actions in a way that no one else can. To her, you were a guy trying to make conversation. That's not so lofty a goal, and I doubt she walked away thinking "How weird was that! He was-- like-- trying to talk to me!", but to you, you were trying to make an impression. You don't think you impressed her (which, I might add, you might have without knowing it!), and that's probably part of the reason you feel the way you do.

I'll pray for you!
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Like Mangafanatic said, sometimes we tend to over analyze ourselves. For example, have you ever gave a class presentation and you felt it was horrible? THen you start thinking everyone elses was better compaired to me. Then when the teacher plays it back, it wasn't as bad as you thought... and it ends up that there where far worst one?

Anyways, don't beat yourself up over this. At least you got the nerve to talk to her, many don't even get that far. She may be thinking to complete opposite. But if you did do something wrong, it's only a learning experience. Gotta start somewhere right? Plus, I'm sure what you've said isn't half as bad(awkward) as what I say when around girls... Tongue tied indeed. I have the right intentions, but it comes out all wrong.

Try not to sweat it much, everyone goes through that. I'll pray for ya.

I have a real problem with dwelling on embarrassing or awkward moments, but in reality, no one ever remembers them, at least not as horribly as I remember them. I'll pray that you get some peace! :thumb:

dont sweat it, ill be praying for you for peace. we all tend to be way harder on our selves then others and were all really judgemental of our own actions. you never know, she could actually be really impressed that you talked to her. so dont feel bad at all, everything happens for a reason right? ill be praying for peace!
