Urgent Prayer Request For California!

Postby Souba » Sat Feb 26, 2005 10:08 pm

Hi,
The 700 club has reported recently that CA is in the process of trying to legalize homosexual marriage. If CA does this then other states will follow. Please, please pray that this will not happen! If you live in CA then tell your church about it, fight this! If you dont live there, know that this will effect you too, and you need to pray as well. It's time for some Spiritual Warfare.
God Bless,
Souba

A warning to future posters: this thread is regarding prayer for this issue only, and obtaining more information about the specific prayer request at hand (i.e., California's alleged legalization of same). If this is turned into an argument regarding the morality of homosexual marriage, it may be closed and/or other administrative penalties taken at our option. This site regards homosexuality as a lifestyle incompatible with the Bible, and will vigourously defend that view.

That said, I hadn't heard anything about that. Do you have a link?

In 2000, Californians approved an amendment that stated that only marriage between a man and a woman will be recognized.

That is currently law. The majority of voters then wanted that, and I'm almost certain that is still true. If changes are going to be made, I don't think that it can be done through the amendment process right now.

What process is being used to do this? Bills in the state legislature?

...

I come in here to see if anybody needs praying for, which I hadn't done before because I thought everyone on this site would hate me. I respond to bakura_fan and Creature Art's prayer threads and what do I find?

Another "let's stop the evil gays" thread.

Honestly, I came on here to find acceptance and people who would care about me. With the exception of a few, notably Kokoro Daisuke, who has been extremely kind to me, this is just the same as most of the churches around my area.

I'm not saying you shouldn't think being gay is wrong, but as I'm bisexual, and have been feeling hated by the church and even God because of it, seeing things like this really doesn't help. It's a bit sad really, just when I was starting to feel like I could actually start posting and actively participating in CAA, I see this. Well, you all won't have to worry about me posting negative stuff anymore... -.-

I'm not going to touch the original post of this thread, but will instead reply to Ross' post. Ross, I know that you're still struggling, so please read this post again. I'm sure you remember it, but please read it again.

Mr_Ross, while I sympathize with you (and said so publicly), I stated flatly that this wasn't going to get turned into a discussion on whether the lifestyle is moral or not, and that stands. No more deviations on this thread, or I'll be making good on my threats.

And, might I add with gentitlity, Mr_Ross, no one here has said anything remotely like "let's stop all the evil gays" or "burn the fags" or anything like that. We have all expressed what we feel is a moral concern with love towards those in that life style. I can't defend what other churches may have said, but I can defend what is said here on CAA

Hi,
Here's the link: http://www.cbn.com/cbnnews/news/050224c.asp and of course you wouldn't hear about this issue in the mainstream media. This is something we must pray about!
God Bless,

yup, i'll sure as heck pray. its like, the same thing with all of those wacko people who want to "delete" the 10 comandments from public buildings, but have no care about mohamad (spelling, do i care?) being there, or even that golden budha thing. if people are going to fight one religion being seen on public buildings, then they need to fight all the religions.

oops, sorry. i sort of went off on a tangent there.... but yes, i'll defintely be praying for and fighting this; seeing as how i'm in So. Cal.

They need to get their Cival Unions and hush. I don't think it's fair that 2 Gays can't pass down property and insurance coverage to each other. it is their choice to be Gay and it's only fair for them to have their rights. But that doesn't mean We as christians need to rip out pages of our bibles so as not to offend anyone. Scripture is scripture.

Mr_Ross, if you were straight you'd think differently, I'm not bisexual but i was Gay from about 11-17 years old. Those 6 years were horrible, I wish poeple were MORE negative towards the Gay lifestyle (not gays but their lifestyle), it was the acceptance and open-mindedness that confused me, everyone was like "oh it's ok, it's normal, be who you are"... and all that crap.

Sexuality is developed, not aquired. it's easier for a straight man to turn Gay than for a Gay man to turn straight. Personally i think as people we restrict ourselves and make ourselve BELEIVE that everyone is against us. Why don't post more at CAA, what does your being bisexual have anything to do with your posts and opinion about anime-games-movies-news. It's not like the question of sexual morality comes up in every thread on here. Just relax and be happy, I've yet to see an anti-mrRoss thread. Just explain to people the situation and ask for prayer and if you don't want to be straight then... i don't know what to tell ya. o_0?

But your being bisexual doesn't mean you can't post more often. It's not like memebers are going to hate your opinion on Cowboy Bebop. "Oh look it's the bi-MrRoss, lets ignore him and do evil things to him" is not something that's ever happened here at CAA. And we've had some lesbies and Homie-o's of our own come by and talk about it, they've gotten nothing but support and prayer.

God killed the people of sodom and gomorrah, so when I slit my wrists, I will just be doing his job for him.
He killed em becuase they were trying to rape the angels, sodom and gomorrah weren't the only cities with gays in em.

I have more respect for Gay people than I do for Straight poeple, gays go through so much hell and confusion trying to pull their lives together and make ends meet, I know many gay people, most where thrown out by their families(actually kicked out of home), others rejected by all of their freinds. So consider yourself lucky. There is a way out, as with all things. When you focus on the problem, you won't ever find an answer. I'd recomend not letting church members know about your sexual issue. It's none of their bussiness anyway. Focus on the answer, it took me 6 years, but now I'm more straight than most of my straight freinds. Things like this take time. If we were healed the instant we were ill, we'd develope no immunity. God takes time, this is good for us. You're on your way, you just don't know it.
I'm leaving CAA perminantly. i've wanted to do this for a long time but I've never gathered the courage to let go.

*sighs* I can see this thread is just going to degenerate, so I'm going to close it.
