Pray for my friend Josh

Last night at Campus Crusade for Christ at school, he shared with us the news that his father disowned him, 'cause of disagreements in career choices. It nearly broke my heart and I was almost in tears for him. I can't believe it happened, especially to one of my best friends who's almost like a brother to me. Josh himself almost cried too. I can't imagine how hard this thing is for him to deal with, but he appreciates all the prayers I and my other Crusade friends have lifted up for him. I did send him a couple of encouraging messages, and in spite of this burden, he's got a strong and mature faith in the Lord. I know he'll be grateful for all your prayers down the road.

Wow. He must have a strong character in order to defy his father. I pray that they will come to terms, but God wills it, it will happen.

Sorry to hear about your friend. I will defiantly pray for your friend Josh. I figure as much as we want to please our parents, there is no point in choosing a carrer path that will make us unhappy in the long run- even if the money is good. It's all about what God has in store for us and what will make us happy.

If you don't mind me asking, what career does your friend what to go into and what does his father want him to do?

Anyways, I'll keep your friend in my prayers. I really hope they will be able to work past this disagreement and be able to form a bond again.

That's such a shame. I'll pray for your friend and his dad and that they may be able to reconcile their differences, God-willing.

That's really bad news. I'll pray for Josh and I hope he and his dad can come to an understanding and become close once more.

For those of you who are wondering just what it was that resulted in this tragic event, Josh was and is determined to serve his country in the army.

I passed a message along to him through another friend's voicemail late last week. I haven't yet heard Josh's feedback on it, but I might see him today and get to talk to him a bit more. I'll share more with you if that happens.
