Two Requests...

I feel sort of childish for posting these, but they're important to me...
1. As you may know, my mother hates anime. The most she's ever seen is half of an episode of Rurouni Kenshin. In this particular episode, Kenshin and Sanosuke are dueling their way through Shishio's fortress, and Sano duels Anji the Destroyer. Like a good antagonist, Anji monologues about his past as a monk. After the episode ends, Mom complains about "all the Buddhist philosophy" in the anime. Later on, Mom says to me that when she looks at anime, all she sees is a different worldview. Thus, she now writes off all anime as bad. Furthermore, I turn on Gundam Seed just to see if it's any good, and Mom enters and sits next to me. She says, "This is an anime right?" I reply, "Yes." Her response: "This isn't one of the adult ones is it?" Can you believe this? I'm a seventeen-year-old committed Christian, and she wonders if I'm watching an "adult" anime!? I replied, in a tone that showed my displeasure, "No, Mom, of course not." Mom has made nothing but disparaging remarks about anime in general for the entire time she's known I like it. She's only seen a half an ep of RK and a smidge of Gundam Seed.
Now, don't get me wrong, Mom loves me more than life itself, andd is a godly lady. But I need her to lighten up. I need her to trust me. I'm almost an adult. Yet she treats me like I have the discernment of a child.
2. Drawing comes very hard for me. I've tried classes, bbooks, andonline tutorials, but still have a child's level of skill. Please pray that God would either help me become skilled at drawing, or remove my desire to draw well. Preferably the former, since the latter is unlikely. ^_~
Rai
P.S. If you have any advice, please PM me.
