For one, my mom's new truck just died out on the road, so my stepdad is leaving to pick her up. He's not happy. She's in downtown Thomaston, about 30-45 minutes away from here. And in the nighttime, not a nice place.

Also, I've gotten ALOT of resistance from nonbelievers. Such as this one today, that I don't know how to respond to:

"I have no desire to insult you but I would enjoy a theological debate.

I have many reasons to doubt the authenticity of Christianity but first let me tell you that I am not an atheist or a nihilist like many “unbelieversâ€

I will definitely pray for you, ^_____^ and will hopefully get you some answers to this; but may send them via pm after Thanksgiving - that's A LOT of stuff @_@. I would also suggest talking to CB Wing, who is one of the better students of apologetics here on CAA.

Very common arguments. If you can deal with these you can deal with most anything they can throw at you. I trust CB Wing will be able to provide you with the reinforcement you need.

I'll be praying.

I'm not knowledgeable about Christian history, but still...

"Also within the New Testament Jesus claimed he would return before people who were alive then had died. And that is why it took so long them to even write the stories down as they were all waiting for him ton return. After 50 years and nothing and many of the original Christians having died they decided to write the stories down to preserve them."

That seems strange to me that people would not record things in some way before that time, especially because the gospel was being actively preached just after the Resurrection.

"It is interesting to note that the average life span then was 35 - 45 years and that it took 50 to write the stories down, most of the disciples were probably dead and what is left are probably stories that had been told and retold many times (remember Chinese whispers)."

That's a lot of probablies... Wasn't there a verse that mentioned that many who had seen the resurrected Jesus Christ were still alive? Yep. In 1 Corinthians 15:6. And the verses before and after that list people in particular who saw Him. Over five hundred people saw Jesus, most of whom were still alive at the time that that letter was written. That would be quite bold to make that assertion if those he claimed as eyewitnesses wouldn't be found.

I will be praying for you...but realise. Some people only want to argue. No matter what you tell them...there gonna be stuck in there ways. Somtimes its best to just be kind to them....rather then engage them in an arguement....you can answer there questions...but no need debating with them.
