I have just recently found out that my cousin, a freshman in college, has started attending a Buhddism club . . . please pray for her . . . I know she is searcching spiritually and I hope this isn't what she lands on. She was raised catholic, but apparently that wasn't enough for her and she stopped attending and didn't finish up with some ceremony for it . . . (not catholic couldnt say what) so she was looking and attended other churches, now shes in that club. Pray please, I'd hate to see her get into that and be lost . . .

That's horrible! Can't say I'm surprised though...after reading about the whole "gluten-free wafer communion scandal" on CNN.com, I'm surprised that ANYONE can attend the Catholic church these days (no offense to any Catholics, I know not ALL of their churches are like that).

I really hope your cousin realizes that Buddhism just isn't the way, and I will be praying for her.

And what do you mean by that...? For one I would take every story CNN puts out there with a grain of salt. They're the most biased media source in the country next to Berkley's campus newspaper. What do you mean anyway you're not making much sense at all?

And I'm not understanding something here Kisa. Is she actually practicing Buddhism or just "checking it out." You never really specified, because I see nothing wrong with learning more about other religions.

W/r/t Catholicism, this is a prayer thread. Knock it off (pointing no fingers -- just drop the subject entirely).

Kisa, I will keep your cousin in prayer (the term you were thinking of is confirmation, I think).

Thanks shoo, I didnt mean for this to become a controversy . . just a prayer request. I have no clue if she is practicing or not, but it seems like it, she talks about it constantly and attends the club alot. Uses Buddah quotes and stuff where we would use Jesus. . .
Yes and thats it: conformation, lol, I couldnt remember the name.
Thank you for praying all!

Ouch. Oh, I'm so sorry! I'll pray for your cousin. I've been through something similar, and I know how much it hurts. Sorry!

Wow. I'll definately be praying for you and your cousin. How are her parents? Are they despairing? Do they have hope? Are they condemning? Do they know? I had a friend sort of like that, but she's a strong Christian now, and her parents are areligious, so it was very hard for her. Anyway, I'll definately be praying.
