A Friend

Postby Spirit_Wolf8356 » Fri Sep 03, 2004 8:10 pm

I have a prayer request for a friend.

She told me tonight that she's very unhappy and she doesn't know why. I asked her if she was saved and she said yes. I...I know some things about her that give me a big clue as to where her spiritual life is, and it's sadly lacking. I told her to read her Bible, pray, and have patience. I wanted to talk to her more, but she said her dad was kicking her off the computer. Pray that she can do these things that I've told her would be helpful to do and that I won't totally put her off the idea or something. She's pretty basically a new friend, even though I've known her for years. We just started getting close.

I might also ask that you pray for me. It's a praise and a prayer request all in one. ^_^ I've never been really big about talking like I did with her. I've never been a good Christian, up until a few things happened to me and changed my life on January 31 of this year. It's a huge step for me to be able to do this and talk like this. I find it a lot easier than I thought it would be.

The choice has been made. There's no looking back. I won't let up, back up, give up, or shut up. My focus clear. My path is straight. My God, reliable. I'm a disciple of Christ.

Gods plan is like the sun. its too big and bright to look at directly, and sometimes the rain clouds cover it, but sometimes the plan dapples through the clouds and we can see beautiful glimpses of what he has in store for us.

*hugs* Will do on both prayer requests!

And don't worry about being a "good Christian" right off the rip... I was on and off for many many many years before the middle of last year and the beginning of this year. It takes time, patience, and practice. ^_^ (And I still don't have everything down pat... LOL )

Father, I lift up praise to You for the faithfulness of Spirit_Wolf. You have moved with in her and Your good work is bearing beautiful fruit. Bless her with perseverance to continue to grow and learn Your ways, wisdom to know Your words and speak them when she talks with others, and strength of character to boldly live a life worthy of You. Thank You for her willingness to be used by You.

Father help her and her friend. I know You have a plan, reveal it to them in Your time and give them the patience to wait for it.

I will definitely be praying for you. ^__^

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.
