She has to get the little hangy-down thingy in the back of her throat removed, and the top of the soft pallet. It relaxes and stops her from breathing in her sleep. She doesn't get much sleep and is always tired because of that. The doctor said that'll change, and that she'll have more energy, won't be sleepy all the time, will have a better memory and some other things. What I'm concerned about is the side effects it might have...what it might do to her, and what will happen if the doctor messes up during the surgery. My grandfather had some test done where they ran a tube down his throat and it damaged his vocal cords. That could happen to mom some way, I'm afraid, or that they could cut through on accident and hit the corroted arteries.
