All the best with the fast from the computer, Talame! Stay strong! I hope you're feeling a bit better, and not so under the weather.

All the best, Rogie! Resist the cravings for fudge brownies!
Everyone else, too. All the best, I mean - not neccessarily the fudge brownies. ;)

God bless.

Schlumpy? Nice. I might use that some time just to make everyone look at me weird.

It's no food for me. I've only fasted once...for about 25-28 hours, for a fundraiser for the "Youth Ending Hunger" club at school. That was pretty cool I guess, and worth doing again.

As for whether or not we are doing the group system...I have compiled a list of group members (and tentative groups), that you can feel free to use, change, or discard at your discretion:

Talame
Joan of Arc
Syreth
jazz
Sphinx Rien

Creature Art
Mave
Mr. SmartyPants
bbboy21
CephasVII

rogie_san
Saint Kevin
wiggins
sonichiro
FadedOne (she never said she actually wanted to join, but she posted here, and so I guess is deserving of a follow-up).

This leaves us with 2 groups of 5, and one of 4, maybe 5.
How did I form them you ask...? No way in particular. I just took the names of all that posted here (after putting the leaders in different groups of course) and then plugged them into a group in the order that they posted(leaving an extra space in each group for expansion if needed).

Feel free to change them if you like, especially as having someone to back up one of your leaders is an important consideration (as I've said before...if you need it, I can volunteer). Or, perhaps you 3 can take turns PMing the general prayer list to all, while group prayer requests are the responsibility of each member.
e.g. I want my group to pray for me about something, so I would PM rogie, wiggins, and sonichiro. I would also be responsible for honoring any prayer requests wiggins, sonichiro, or rogie gave to me via PM. Just an idea...

Once again, it's great to see you guys doing this. Nobody needs an organization to do something good for God. We just need a willingness to bear one another's burdens, and a dedication to prayer. For our God can do all things, and the fervent prayers of the righteous availeth much good.
Our lives are but a vapor, let us not let waste our time and breath on vanities, but let us spend ourselves for the Kingdom, seeking a better resurrection.

Just thought I'd keep you guys posted. FadedOne has decided to join our humble group. I hope you'll all give her a warm welcome.

OK! I have finished my fast... head over to the fasting thread to see how it was, as well as to write up your own experiences with fasting.

As for the groups... great stuff! The only thing I should point out is that Syreth is a leader, not Rogie_san... but its ok, cause Syreth can't access the net regularly ;)
Rogie_san and Creature Art, would you guys mind taking a group each? I know that you guys have a fair bit to do (i.e. RS does the prayer list and CA you have school (correct?) ;) )

Also, Welcome Faded!

Sure, I can try it out. If I get too overloaded, we can work something out, but I'm willing to dive in for now! :thumb:

I'm willing to dive in also.

As Talame noted, I'm just back to school now (last year). But I'll just see how it goes and work from there. :)

I hope your fasts all went well. God bless you all heaps. :)

Hey, I'm here. I posted several times in the first thread but then was occupied for a long period of time and wasn't able to get here. Sorry I am so late!

I would like to ''re-join'' if I could.

Meep! I haven't replied in 5 days! Naughty Talame naughty!
Anyway, if we are going to implement the group system, it will have to be soon because uni will be starting up very soon, so I won't be able to help out as much as I would like...

btw, sorry for letting the thread go silent :(

No prob, Talame. Update: Our dear Gypsy has already made a prayer followup sticky for us. Thanks, Gypsy!!! XD

I'm going to start posting updates today but I also realized that I definitely need help. ^___^;; I will be keeping track of the list, coordinating the contact list and PMing the requestors. All I need is someone to help me contact some of these individuals (I'll do this through PM) and help post the updates on the thread. I intend to update this list once every week.

Eh...any takers? <.< >.> Please help me. Don't worry, I'm a nice person, I won't bite! ;) Oh yeah, pls PM me about this. Thanks!

Hey, I thought I would bump this thread back to the top to see if we can get the Prayer Guardians moving along, especially since another fast day is coming up (i.e. March 1st).

Where are the Prayer Guardians?

Hi! I'm back. Sorry i haven't really been on CAA much of late, and I also have lapsed in my praying for the prayer request here at CAA. I'm sorry. I'll get back on it! I just let myself get distracted by school break... I know I shouldn't have.

That sounds like a wonderful program Volt. I know it would really help people like me.

I'd love to join. I personally have found it a sort of CAA ministry to pray for people on the prayer forum. :)

Although I am guilty of saying "I'll pray" when I can't think of anything else to say. ^^;; Does that make me uneligible?

Not at all, Madeline. I have often posted short "I'll pray" responses, too. We'll add you to the roster! :thumb:

Thank you, Volt! That's such an awesome idea!

WB; Wiggins. Don't worry - you're not the only one struggling with having prayer times. A few people I've talked to have had the same problem - myself included.

For all those people who are having trouble making and keeping their prayer times: don't get discouraged when you feel you've failed or let God/people down. Repentence is most definitely a good thing - but when guilt holds us back and traps us that is NOT a good place to be. We're all sinners and mess up - the important thing is to ask for God's forgiveness and strength to get up and try again, heading in His direction.

I hope that's not out of place. It just seems that a few people are struggling with that, especially regarding missed prayer times - myself included, and I wanted to encourage all of us. :)

I'm pretty sure Prayer Guardians aren't about adding guilt or stress to our lives. I suppose it's aims are (feel free to correct/add if I'm wrong/missed any) to make sure prayer requests are prayed for. Hopefully while we do so it brings us closer to God and positively impacts the lives of the people we pray for.

Sorry if that's a little off topic -but I hope it helps some people.

Welcome, Madeline - it's good to have you with us. :)

I would like to post the lyrics of a song from Hillsongs Australia since it has always encouraged me in our dependancy on God, which emphasizes the importance of prayer. There is nothing too big for God to handle. :thumb:

You Said
You said, Ask and you will receive
Whatever you need
You said, Pray and I'll hear from heaven
And I'll heal your land

You said Your glory will fill the earth
Like water the sea
You said, Lift up your eyes
The harvest is here, the kingdom is near

You said, Ask and I'll give the nations to you
O Lord, that's the cry of my heart
Distant shores and the islands will see
Your light, as it rises on us

O Lord, I ask for the nations (repeat)

PS: I've had some trips in my prayer life but I'm back, reporting for duty.

That's an awesome song - I know that one, too! *go Hillsong!*
I never saw it as an encouragement to prayer when I was singing it but now you've posted the lyrics I wonder just how blind I can be, .

Thank you, Mave - that is a real encouragement to prayer. :)

Yeah, I'm fasting. It's gonna be hard, since I'm at school from about 8 AM until at least 9:30, but it will be worth it.

Yup.

I messed up already! Right after I ate breakfast I was like, "Wait... I'm fasting today!" I tied string around my wrist, so hopefully I will remember for the rest of the day.
