What was yours like? and how did you think that it went?

eep... that's taking me back a few years. Way more than a few actually (try around 7 or so yrs ago... aah, was I really that young?) We were at a baseball game I think (before it started). I managed to talk to two girls, who from memory were of the opinion that they were Christians, just not 'practising christians' [yeah, it confused me too :P].
But like I said, we don't really do many outreaches like those here in Aussie (above experience was while I lived in Yankie land), which is rather sad.

Hello maties! Its almost time again

Btw, just an aside... while reading alot of the prayer requests, I've noticed that a vast majority of them also want prayer that they will develop a closer walk with Jesus, whether because they feel their faith is growing cold or that they continue along the right path. Anyway, I think that we should pray this for all CAAers.

Can I encourage you guys to pray about this as well, and not just on the fast days. Afterall, a walk with Jesus isn't a monthly or even bi-monthly thing... its every single day!

 Love ya guys!

I forgot to mention that I would like to partake in the right of the Prayer Guardian. >_<

But what is this time that is almost upon us? Monthy fasting!?
Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Welcome aboard matie!
And yes... !!! ACK! It's tomorrow! Thanks for reminding me :P Though, maybe I'll fast on Friday cause Thursdays are so extremely packed... Friday I think will be better cause that way I can concentrate on prayer more ad not be distracted by uni junk :P
Basically, we fast bi-monthly and set aside those days to really press in and interceed for our fellow CAAers.

My fast went well. I decided to try something a bit unconventional. I didn't wear my watch all day. It was kind of annoying, but accomplished its purpose.

Sure thing matie! Welcome aboard!
oo.. I have to give the rules first. Basically, just don't make short "i'll pray" posts. I think that was the only rule laid on us by the mods, which is a fair one cause it will stop spamming.

Anyway, welcome aboard!

Fasting from a watch sounds like an awesome idea, Anna Mae. I hope you dont mind me following your example some time. :)

I apologise for missing the last fast. I was away from CAA for a couple of weeks due to stuff (including school exams). I hope it went well for everyone.

Wow! Cool! I love this thread already. May I join as well? It seems like something that would be good to do. I especially like the idea of a structured group fast. It's nice to feel like you're fasting for a combined effort.

Hey maties! The fast day is quickly approaching. 1st of October (yay! My fav month ;) )

With this fast, maybe as well as praying for our fellow CAA brethren, we could also bring before the Lord aspects of our own lives that we feel need to be changed to be more like Him. For example: pride vs humilty, fear of God vs disrespect, etc.

May God bless you guys with true spiritual treasures which will not rust or fade away :thumb:

Thanks for the reminders, Talame.

Recently God has been convicting me through some people about acceptance of those who claim to be Christian but "aren't serious about their faith." Along with that goes self-righteousness.

Well, the fast day is upon us yet again...

I've been thinking about PG lately, and I dont know bout you guys but it seems to have lost some of its life. All we seem to do is fast bi-monthly (not knocking it, it just doesnt seem good by itself). Perhaps we should implement the idea that was being kicked around awhile ago of having prayer groups. After all, as Matt. 18:19-20 says:

"...Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."

What do you guys think? By having prayer groups (which could meet on MSN or even just send PM's to one another), we not only will be able to remind one another to pray more often, but Jesus' promise of being with us will be all the more valid.

I really like that idea.

also maybe we could have prayer parteners, where 2 ppl pray together, strengthen each other, and really help the other in thier walk with God.
I don't know if thats a good idea, but I thought I would throw it out there.

I like that idea actually! Though, perhaps 3 or so people would be better (hence allowing for some people to go away on a holiday or such without leaving their prayer partner partner-less ) But yeah, small groups would be great. By keeping them small, people might find it easier to open up and also to contribute more.
:thumb:

O, another thing... it might be a good idea to organise the groups in relation to timezones; that would make it so much easier to organise a time to meet online or something XD Just a thought

Hi. God laid it on my heart over the weekend to join the Prayer Guardians. Since I am new with this, when is the next day we are supposed to fast? Also, I think the small groups is an excellent idea.

I know I'm a new PG, but I'm on the east coast too, FF, so I guess we could be prayer partners.
