I would like to add a request that's close to my heart. My mother is one of the many doctors and nurses helping treat the refugees in the Astrodome in Houston. She called yesterday, and said she had been helping from 8 am til 2 pm, after working overnight the night before and was on her way to work then. Please pray for the many caregivers like my mother to have supernatural strength and rest as they serve others before themselves. Thanks.

Not trying to get into politics here, I just want facts. What is being done to help these people? Does anyone know any places I can send money or supplies to?

My Mom's an RN, Ashley, and her heart is breaking for what's going on down there, so I think I can relate.
As for charities, the Red Cross and Salvation Army are two groups down there working.

Myself, I would suggest the Salvation Army as well. As someone who grew up in the Salvation Army church, they definitely have the resources for disaster recovery.

My father told me that this disaster was biblical 'cause when ya trace teh ancestry of these guys livin' in New Orleans, tehy came from the egyptians, the plague is still with them, unless of course for those who are already christians...

either way, we should really pray for them..
fasting would be a great idea for this..
God has a plan for each of us
He wants us to fullfill
And He'll provide the strength we need
To carry out His will.

God bless.. :jump:
