History exam tomorrow & other college stuff

Postby RedMage » Sat Sep 16, 2006 5:49 pm

I have an exam on my U.S. history class tomorrow. Please pray that I'll do well. Half the grade is multiple choice questions and half is two essay questions. The professor gave us a pool of eight possible essay questions, from which he'll choose two to be on the test. I think I'm pretty well prepared for that, but the multiple choice questions bother me more because I have no idea what they'll be about.

I'm also in the middle of research for my U.S. history term paper, on Benedict Arnold. Pray that I'll be able to get through my books quickly efficiently, absorb the relevant information. and put together something good. The draft isn't due until the beginning of November, so I have some time.

I'm more concerned about my two theology term papers. One is a comparison of two books on the issue of predestination versus free will and the other is about a theological topic of my choosing. I don't feel qualified to do these at all. Pray for me most of all there.

Finally, I've gotten D's on my logic homework two weeks in a row, and it's bugging me. Pray I'll be able to do better the next couple of weeks.

Thanks to you all.

How did it go?

It sounds like you are pretty loaded with schoolwork right now. I can empathize; hang in there! I will be praying.

That sounds like some tough subjects you're dealing with, especially the theology and the logic. Just do your best and don't get discouraged! I'll pray for ya.

I'll be praying for those papers/classes that you need a little help in.

Alright, I took the exam yesterday afternoon. There are apparently 121 possible "points" you can score (an odd number, I know), 61 of which are from 61 multiple choice questions. I got 57 of them correct (and I maintain I was cheated on one of the others ;)).

The two essay questions are good for the remaining 60 points. The Professor says he should have those graded by Friday. I'm cautiously/conservatively thinking my essay answers were about C-level at least, so I figure a failure at least is mathematically impossible. Not that I was really worried about flunking. I'm guardedly optimistic about the final grade, but pride goes before destruction, so we'll wait and see. This exam is worth 18 percent of my overall final grade on the course, incidentally.

Thanks for the prayers, people, keep them going please.

Well, I didn't want to brag, but since you asked, I got a perfect score on both essays, resulting in an overall score of 96 out of 100.

Now I move into the heart of term-paper writing season.
