Praise God! A job!

Postby Syreth » Mon May 15, 2006 12:11 am

Well, I requested awhile back for prayer that the Lord would provide a job for me. He really went against the odds on this one, cause the place I'm going to be working this summer was on the brink of shutting down for good for awhile and has recently restarted their program to hire college students for the summer. The pay is good, the hours are good and it lasts all summer. So praise God for His provision.

This brings another request: the college group that I've been involved with has asked me to lead worship, since the current leader is moving away. So, I just want to ask you guys to pray that God would continue the worship for this group as He wills it, even if my work schedule conflicts with the meetings. So whether I'm able to step up or not, it would be awesome to see this continued. Thanks, everyone.

Hey, congratulations, Syreth! How exciting for you! I hope this job will be fantastic for you, and I will pray that God will give you wisdom about the worship situation, and that He'll make everything about it clear to you all.
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

Good deal! :thumb: Glad to hear about your new job, and I'll be praying about the college worship group. Even if you don't lead, will you be able to attend at least some of the meetings, or could work interfere with most or all of them? I'll pray regarding that, as well.

Thanks for praying, guys. I really appreciate it. My schedule is still up in the air. As far as I know, they have people switch back and forth between 12 hour day/night shifts, so it sounds like my schedule will be pretty irregular. Hopefully God will work something out so that I can participate. Also, I might be playing guitar for another community worship group this summer. So if you guys would, please really pray that God would have His hand in the scheduling. I would really love to be involved with both groups as well as continue in what I'm already doing. Hopefully I will be able to make at least some of the meetings, but it's too early to tell. Thanks again.

Well, there's prospects of me working 8 hour days monday-friday (as opposed to 12 hour rotating shifts), which would mean I would be able to do everything that I'm hoping for. I just hope it works out! Thanks for your prayers guys.
