stumbling around

Postby Silent Hunter » Tue Oct 25, 2005 9:23 pm

I go to a private Christian school, and while I don't have to put up with all the difficulties of a public school, (and I hold the Christians who live strong in the public school in very high regard) sometimes it can be very hard to live right in my school. We still struggle a lot with gossip and keeping our jokes on a clean level. I stumble in my walk sometimes when I see so many Christians around me living not too differently from the world. Sometimes I feel like such a hypocrite. Please pray that I will take a stand in my high school. Thanks -

I'm on it matie.

I went to a Christian school, and know a bit of how you feel. There were quite a few people there who said they were Christians yet did not act like it, and gossip was rampant. I guess the only advice I can offer is to try to be the best example you can; if people are gossiping, try to change the subject or say something nice about the person in question.

As for feeling like a hypocrite; well its either an attack by the enemy or a conviction by the Holy Spirit. Either way, God does not want you to remain in that state of condemnation; ask Him to show you any areas that you do need changing, and pray into them. Make an effort to improve, but do not rely on your own strength. When you are being tempted to gossip or such, pray a prayer, or quote a verse that will remind you that God can and will help you to change to be more like Him.

Anyway, I hope that rambling encouraged or helped you ^^

(btw, welcome! I dont think I've seen you around)

I haven't been to a Christian school, but I understand feeling like a hypocrate. Just keep trying to grow in the Lord and pray that you will stay strong. And I will be praying.

I know how you feel. I went to a private school myself, as did my sister. And even though it's got good rules and principles, there's still indications of non-Christian behavior (drama, rebellion, etc). I understand how difficult it is for you to be a testimony among all this. I'll be praying.

K. Ayato: Perfectly.

Thanks for your honesty. Lifting you up.
Theme Scripture: Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)

And a verse for all us single folks: Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? (1 Corinthians 9:5)

Thanks for your posts everybody! I really appreciate them, and, yes, I am relatively new to the site. I really appreciate your prayers and I am trusting God help me be strong in my school. Thanks again
