Minor? Request..

Postby FadedOne » Tue Aug 02, 2005 11:00 am

hey

I'd just like to ask for a bit of prayer for the next couple weeks. For the last few days I've found myself rather depressed and unmotivated. It comes and goes, but for the most part I feel really heart-heavy and down. It's so very unenjoyable.

anyways...it's not a major issue, but I wanted to ask for prayer for this anyway because I have all of 10 days left before leaving for college a couple states away and the last thing I need right now is to be like this. I can't seem to accomplish anything, I just want to be moody and sleep and stare into space. bleh. So yeah...prayer would be really appreciated.

And I guess...prayer for the issue that seems to be causing this depressedness. I mean, I know in the grand scheme of things this is just the devil trying to make me feel down and worthless before college. But there's a specific way he's working this and that's through stress and uncertainty in a close friendship of mine. and yeah...prayer for understanding, clarity of thought, and some peace of mind would be SO good. i'd really really appreciate it.

so yeah...thanks ^_^

No prayer request is ever minor. If it's something that's big enough to bother you and ask for prayer, then it's important *hug* I will pray for you. You're about to step into a world full of wonderful opportunities! Don't let the enemy get to you. *huggle*

I'll be praying for you! It sounds like a lot of what you are talking about might be helped by spending some good, quality time with God in His Word. I dunno what your devotional life is like, but it might be good to read through an epistle or something, do you think? I dunno! I pray that you would be encouraged, my friend! Also, that things would be sorted out with your friend. It's no fun when things like that get shaken up.

Hello,
I'll be praying for you, that you overcome this depression, and that God fires you up in preperation for collage. Depression is an ugly bugger to deal with, I totally agree with you, especially when it comes in form of a friendship. I don't know the specifics of your situation, but here's what I do. Pray for both yourself, and your friend, that God moves in both your hearts, and that His will be done concerning the both of you. And it may be hard, but if this friend seems to become more of a hinderance, pray for God to give you the coucil and wisdom to address the matter, or remove this friend if he/she will hinder your work fo God. I know, it sounds harsh, but when I say remove I mean in a sense that you wont need to deal with this person, and continue to pray for this person that they find peace as well and continue to walk with God. I hope this helps a little, keep us informed, and know that I'm praying for you;that God grants you peace, understanding, a steady heart, focus, strength, and that you'll be refreshed and re-newed in no time. I'll also be praying for this friend of yours, that god will be done concerning this situation, and that you recieve the coucil on how to deal with matters as they come, regardless of what happens however, rest assured God will is done, and that His will is for your best of interest.

God bless,
Archan

Hey, I'm praying for you too Lara. I felt somewhat the same before I entered college so your not alone. I hope everything works out for you, that the Lord gives you clarity of mind and the strength to overcome your depression. Oh and this school year goes good for you. I have faith things will work out for you. But yeah, I'll be praying. Continue to have faith.

But there's a specific way he's working this and that's through stress and uncertainty in a close friendship of mine. and yeah...prayer for understanding, clarity of thought, and some peace of mind would be SO good. i'd really really appreciate it.

I thought i'd update this thread a lil bit because I wanted to ask more specific prayer about this paragraph. and perhaps even a bit of advice, though the prayer is more necessary.

I leave for college Friday and I still have get to hear from this friend. I keep nearly calling him(yeah, a guy...see why this is so complicated?) but I just have terrible luck when calling people and I always feel like i'm putting them out. but yeah, it's been over 2 weeks since he called me. I did call once about 9 days ago, but he was busy and couldn't talk but a short while. and I ended up feeling weird. so yeah...now i'm really torn between calling and seeing what's up or waiting (im)patiently for a phone call. I just dont know how to work this with out coming across as annoying...

Anyways, yeah um...not sure that makes sense. There are other comlications like a miscommunication-that-could-have-hurt-feelings and other such things, but taht would be very confusing to explain. and yeah...mostly I just need prayer for peace and resolution of this before I leave. I know that this will drive me nuts if I can't resolve it soon. i hate feeling like i have people angry/upset with me and/or thinking they just dont care at all....

so yea, umm...that's probably rambly and confusing. sorry =/ For the most part I DO have more peace over this than I did, but still i'm kinda upset because I really believed i might get a call tonight but no luck. :shake: agh...guys are so very very confusing, even as friends...

Praying! It's nothing but the devil trying to get you down before you go off and do something great. Good luck in college!

Yeah, things can sure get lost in the wires, can't they? I'll pray that you'd get things sorted out with your friend.

I know exactly how you feel. I absolutely hate the feeling that you get when you think someone might be mad at your or have something against you. I have a big pile of that on my plate right now as well. Of course, the thing that helps most is to give it over to the Lord and to trust Him with it. Another thing that helps me is just getting things out there. Like if you feel something might be wrong, then ask the person straight up, "Is there anything wrong between us?" If they don't tell you if anything's wrong, then you're clear, cause you did your part. If there's a conflict, then it's much better to get it out in the open than to hide it inside where it will bug your conscience all the time. It's possible that stuff like this even hinder your relationship with God. Of course you know your situation and what God might be saying to you best. I'll be praying for you!
