Posting a Request Made by an Unregistered Member: "Scared"

Postby Rogie » Mon Aug 08, 2005 7:43 pm

An unregistered guest made the following prayer request, so I'm posting it here for others to be able to see it and pray about it.

okay everybody, here's the deal. there's this sin I keep committing, I really don't want to go into detail. It's horrible and terrible and i just hate doing it, but at first it seems so alluring, and I commit, but when I'm done, I just feel awful about it. i keep asking god for forgiveness and I genuinely want to stop, but it's so hard to stop. I seem to do this just about every day, and I've come to the conclusion that I should put this problem in the lord's hands. since I seem to be living in sin right now, if I were to die, would i go to hell? And another thing, i really like to draw, I mean, I really love to draw and i would like to make it into a career. But if i keep asking for forgiveness, and then sin(this particular one) again the next day, would God take this talent away from me as a punishment? please let me know ASAP. Btw, i'm a christain, been one for many years, and I'm also a member of this site, but for the mean time like to remain anymous.

*Note: This request will be added to the Prayer List on the next update.

Hmmm, Take a talent away as a punishment? Well, how are you using this talent? Are you using it to help God? We know from the Bible that to whom much is given, much is expected. This talent is a gift from God. Use it for the cause he gave it to you, and he will trust you with more.

Concerning this sin, you're taking the right steps in confessing, but it seems you're having trouble staying away from it. My best suggestion would be, if this sin is something related to something you can seperate yourself from-- do so. (Example: If your struggle is Porn, give up the computer for. . . a month or as long as it takes.) Second, don't let youself get in a situation where this sin is close to you. (Example: If you're an alcoholic, don't go into bars.) Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, get accountability. As terrible as it may seem to expose this sin to those around you (if you haven't already), do it. They can help you. I know that in my life, one of the ways God helps break me of habitual sin is to have Godly people around me who can help support you in your struggle.

I'll be praying for you, that God will help you over come this stronghold. And remember, you will not be tempted beyond that which you can bear. All things all possible through Christ.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Okay, I'll step forward and say it's me. the sin I'm dealing with lust. I don't look at hentai anymore. but i have problems with lustful thoughts, fantasies, etc. Actually, i did look at hentai just last week and it was the first time i had in months. i know I'm not regularly looking looking at hentai, but if I stay on this path, i know it will take me straight back to hentai. and I have been getting rid of things that will put me in such predicaments. I used to have a bunch of suggestive ecchi pics on my computer, but i deleted them. it's just so hard to deal with because crap like that is so easy to come by on the internet,tv,etc. As for being worried about going to hell, i'm not worried about that anymore. when i wrote that i was just feeling real crappy, so that's why I wrote that. As for my drawing, I have drawn some things in the past that I am ashamed of. I haven't done that in a little while, and my drawing skills are continuing to improve, so I am praising god for that. anyways, can you guys just pray that I can beat lust. Thanks in advanced.

First off, you're going to be okay, alright? ;) Second off, you've done the first step of getting over the sin, confessing... but letting go is difficult, this I know. I've had my share of enticing sins and in the end I just felt so disgusting and alone.

I knew what I had to do and something the bible teaches... radical surgery... if your left eye causes your right eye to sin cut it out... throw away everything right now that will cause to sin, or tempt you.

If this sin has something to do with your talent and love of drawing give it up for a awhile and search around for healthier inspirations... you'd be surprised at the options... God will provide them but you'll have to trust him on it and hand the sin over first.

Another thing as well... God is not a god of merits, otherwise I'd be going to hell in a handbasket, on the fastpass... He's a loving God, in fact love itself, he took your sin, killed it by sacraficing himself with it, rose again and left sin in its grave... if you believe Jesus is your Lord and Savior there's a reservation in hevean just for you, cause Jesus personally cancalled yours in Hell. :thumb:

I'll be praying for you my sibling in Christ... Take care.

I respect you for being willing to confess this to your fellow members, but I would like to remind you and all other members that just because a Prayer Guardian picks up a request made in anonymity, it doesn't mean that you should feel pressured to come forward and admit to it. The request is picked up so that it will actually appear in the Prayer Room (unregistered guests' requests do not appear in there, but only in searches, like the "Get New Posts" search).

I'm not saying that you were feeling pressured either, heero. I just wanted to assure everyone that anonymity is respected just as much as public confession is. :thumb:

And I'm praying, too.

I'm praying for you, man! Hang in there with the Lord and He will be your strength and pull you out of this sin. I really respect the fact that you confessed to us, and to me, that shows that there is a part of you that really wants to stop. I would encourage you to read the word when you're tempted, or maybe even memorize some scripture, if you feel led. See the link in my siggy -- "Remember the Sword"

You have my prayers,
I hope you find the strength you need in god, and that you recieve the confidence necessary to overcome this great trial you have ahead of you. Just remember, God doesn't allow us to go through anything He knows we can't handle, so take comfort in knowing you DO have what it takes to break through this.

God bless,
Archan
