I've got a small situation that I need some wisdom on with the band I'm in. Myself and two other friends started this band and it's going beautifully. We practice quite a bit and we're going to start writing our own music songs instead of just covering other stuff. We're a "Christian" band. I want to be able to exemplify and sing about the love of Jesus to kids at shows who are really hurting. I got into this for fun, but also because I love Jesus and I think music is a great medium for spreading the Gospel. A lot of the kids in the hardcore/rock music scene are really hurting and are searching for answers, and if they can find it through Jesus, fantastic.
So, onto my problem. The deal here is that I have two friends who are Christians and two friends who are not, all of whom want to be in the band. I don't want to tell my two unsaved friends "NO, YOU AREN'T A CHRISTIAN SO YOU CANNOT BE IN THE BAND!" but at the same time, I don't want these friends, who generally lead lives that seem (to my simple observations at least) very far from God to have a negative impact on the band as a whole. I love my friends, and I don't want to hurt anyone. It feels like if they're going to have a negative effect, then I need to not allow them to be in it, but it also seems like if I say that, they might be completely offended and this would hurt my witness to them. If anyone could just pray for wisdom for me...I don't know what to do. I really, really don't. Thanks, God bless.
