This wasn't supposed to happen...

I am at the house of a family friend right now. We have been taking care of their little kids all day because Sarah, their daughter who had cancer, is back in the hospital. They think she just has a virus but are running a bunch of tests as a precaution.

On top of this, the kids' grandmother was getting on the plane to come visit them when she got a massive headache. She was rushed to the ER. Apparently she has an annurism (I don't know how to spell it). She might not live through the night. She opened her eyes today but they don't know if that is a good sign or not. She stopped bleeding internally, which leads me to believe that our prayers are going to be answered...but I just don't know. This is a total shock to me. She is such a strong person! How could this happen to her? She can't die now...not when her grandchildren are depending on her! The kids don't even know what's happening yet. They are too little to understand, so we just pretend that nothing is going on. It's hard to keep it together.

I want to go home so bad...I've been so selfish having a bad attitude like this. Their need is greater than mine. I'm tired though, and I'm upset that I didn't get to spend my weekend the way I wanted to. I just got two dvds of Fullmetal Alchemist and I wanted to finish watching them and eat cookies and crop some pictures on my deviantart account...and sleep...I am so awful to even think of those things! :eh: Just because I am "inconvenienced" by helping someone is in need I am being really grumpy. I have to stay the night here and tomorrow I have to do a presentation which is not finished...

I hope i have my report for tomorrow! I worked so hard on it and I don't know if I remembered to take it. There's no way I'll be able to get it now, and I'll fail if I don't have it! I really want a good grade on it!

Please pray that I would be strong...that all of us would be strong...and that their grandmother Ruby will pull through.

Thanks.

I will pray for your friends family and for you. Just remember that we should pray for God's will, not our own.
Praise the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your might, for that is what we were created for.

It's really good of you to be helping your friends right now, when they need you most. I know it can be hard to maintain a good attitude in the midst of it all (something I often have trouble with), but I'm sure that God's really happy that you're sticking this out for your friends. I'll be sure to pray for you and your friends.

At least you've acknowledged your feelings, Madeline, which makes battling them and receiving comfort from God much easier. I'll pray for them and for you! :thumb:

Thank you so much for your prayers. Yesterday Ruby, the kids' grandma, opened her eyes and held someone's hand! Today, she sat up and actually talked to everyone! :) I'm at home now, and things seem to be working out fine.

God worked everything out for our good, just like He said he would. ^_^ My throat is feeling a little sore but other than that I am fine. I am home now, and my presentation went great! (Not how I expected, but still great! It seems like God likes to mix things up a little bit to remind us that things should go His way, not ours) Sarah is out of the hospital and Ivy, her mother, is home. =) Being away like that even for a day makes me really thankful for everything I have here. I really missed my dad, my room, my chapstick and toiletries (I forgot mouthwash and washcloths), and even my tortoise! I usually am a little annoyed at him since he mostly mooches greenbeans and water off us and lies around most of the day, but today he woke up and let me pet him for a while which was really cool! X3

It all depends on how you look at things, eh?

Thanks again for your kind thoughts and prayers. :)

That's great to hear, Madeline, and it's wonderful that you've learned something to draw you closer to God, too! And you have a pet tortoise? Cool! What's his name? (*wondering if it may be a Ninja Turtle name, like Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, or Michaelangelo...*) :thumb:

Haha! *giggles* Nope, his name is Houdini, because he is a little escape artist. He can get out of pretty much anything we put him in except for the screen porch! XD I was going to name him Yutaro, but my mom called him Houdini and the name stuck! Before we just called him "turtle" or "bb"...short for "baboon butt" *not a very flattering name, I know*. XP He was rescued by a friend of ours and his bottom was painted red. :( It kind of came in handy though as he camoflauges (sp?) really well...

We were going to give him away, but he kind of grew on us, lol :) So we've had him ever since!
