I have two friends named Miles and Justine
Miles is an unbelievably funny guy.The first time I met him he had me in tears from laughing. He's also really cool and smart.
Justine is equally funny and really pretty as well. Both of them are some good friends of mine. Juuuuust one huge issue
They are non-believers. When I heard Justine admit that we wer in my after-scgool class and a boy named Corinthian (yes as In 1 and 2 Corinthian in the bible) just learned his name was in it. And she came out and said "Oh I don't believe in God" I looked at her really shocked as it was the first time I met a non-believer. She then said "My parents are always like oh I'm going to hell because I don't believe and that gays are going to" she then went into how her and her parents always argue about gays "Homosexuality can't be a choice so how can that be a sin??" this made me think back to the section in Romans that talks about homosexuality. From what she tells me about her parents, she was raised in a home where her parents filled her mind with "If you don't believe in God you go to hell" because of this it seems as she rejected that from the way her parents taught her so she doesn't believe
Now for Miles. In science today we had a sub so I was in the back of the room talking with him. He had a book called "Godless" I asked if he was either agnostic or atheist. He then said "I don't believe in Jesus,Buddha or none of that crap" so he then said how it's stupid and retarded to believe in a spirit who "floats" around and whatnot.I said well that is what you believe. Then he said how religous people are what is holding America back. I said that is not rue. He said yes because religious people voted for Bush because he claimed he was a Christian.
How do I reach out to both of them?? you know in a way where they won't feel like I am forcing my beliefs in them?? Help please
