Air Omega

Postby Gypsy » Mon Oct 25, 2004 8:43 am

For lack of time, I have to make a long story short. Lightbringer or Shatterheart can answer any questions:

I'm working with my church on a project called "Air Omega - Terror in the Skies." What happens is we've set up an "airport" and people get on an "airplane." Then we simulate take-off, flight, and then a crash. All the passengers are now "dead." Then they escorted to Heaven and God's throne by angels. The history of man, from creation to Christ's death on the cross is shown to them in a 3 minute video. Then some of the plants that are with the group are called into Heaven. The rest then go to the Book of Life. When their name is not found, they go for a walk through hell.

I know that many people disapprove of using scare tactics to bring people to salvation. I used to think that way too - that I'd rather win people to Christ through love instead of fire and brimstone. But when I worked on a similar project last year, my views changed. Eternity is very real and Heaven and Hell are very real. Even the Bible said that some people will be brought to the truth through fear for their eternal destination.

Through Air Omega, we're hoping to present the truth that everyone must make a choice, and we're covering hard topics like hypocrites in church and we even have a preacher as one of satan's favorite "trophies." No one is pressured into a decision at the end - they have the choice to leave or listen to whoever is explaining salvation.

I would rather love someone into the Kingdom, but I've decided that I'm also very willing to be part of something that shows what will happen if a person dies without accepting Jesus Christ.

I'm not one to see demons under every rock and stone, but I will say that you don't make efforts to win the lost without coming against spiritual opposition. We, the workers, need prayer cover just as much as the unsaved people going through Air Omega. If you could, Shatterheart, Lightbringer and I would very much appreciate you guys praying for the safety and health of the actors, convincing performances, creativity of the artists, clarity and concentration for the sound personnel, and general good teamwork from all who are involved. Also, please pray that if it's God's will to speak to people through Air Omega, that He would prepare their hearts. If nothing else, that they would understand the concept of eternity and the love Christ gave us so we don't have to die without Him and go to hell.

And I already have a praise report. Although we officially open tonight, we had two groups of troubled young people (from a correctional facility) go through last Friday, and 17 of them gave their lives to God. As for the rest, all but one was interested in hearing more. Many of these kids already know our Pastor from the Bible Study that he runs at the prison, so they already knew that he was genuine with them - also, he'll be able to help them follow through on their new decision to live for Christ.

It's a lot of work. We have a crew of well over 100 workers there to make this all happen, and we all need the prayer cover. I might have some pictures to post later on, but it will be in a different thread. Thank you for taking the time to read this and also thank you for praying.

I'll definitely keep it in prayer, as always.

I will be sure to keep you and your work in my prayers.
Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

There are different tactics used to get a point across. Some better than others, but what you have here sounds like a good idea. I'll pray that everything works out.

Our church has a similar thing going on this week, so I know just how bad you'll need the prayer.

I will definitely pray for you all. The Lord uses many ways, and the results are always the same - His truth will always shine through no matter the method. May God richly bless you all doing this, as much as He blesses those who walk through this simulation.

Thanks for sharing such a long explanation, Gypsy. ^___^

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Keep us updated, Gypsy, on how things continue to go with the project, and I'll be praying.
