I need some confirmation.

Postby Ante Bellum » Tue Apr 07, 2009 3:31 pm

My life can be pretty messed up sometimes, and I need some help.
I believe that Armageddon is coming, and there is someone I think is a demon. I feel like I may be in some sort of trouble with God because of my thought patterns (from ranting to downright hate), and that something evil may be trying to cut me off. I'm trying to pray more but I wish I did more.
I also feel that, because I've attended anime conventions and that the Japanese are atheistic, I have wronged. I made some crude jokes but didn't get into anything I though would be truly wrong (such as yaoi, hentai, etc.). I turned away and reject such things, but some people I was around supported it. I've prayed some for their salvation, but will it be enough?

In short, as I am here tearing up, I need some confirmation from fellow believers that I can still be saved.

Thanks, and Soli Deo Gloria!

Once you've accepted Christ as your saviour, there's nothing that can tear you away from His salvation. You may distance yourself from Him, but He will not distance Himself from you.

Just because the majority of Japanese people aren't Christians, and just because a lot of anime fans aren't Christians, and just because there are anime series out there that don't honor God at all doesn't mean that you've done something wrong by going to a convention and being around those people. Thinking that being around non-Christians is a sin will only prevent you from being able to share the gospel with those people.

Quoted for truth.

I wanted to say some long text here, but this sums up my thoughts on the subject.

Of course, I could give you my own humble experience with cons. Even though anime cons do contain a lot of awful stuff(like yaoi/hentai fans), an anime con reminds me a lot of the world as a whole (only condensed into a smaller venue XD). We still needs to be lights(as we are in the world) in the darkness(through our actions, because they speak louder than words) as Christians.
And I think a lot of anime fans need(and maybe want?) to see that light. o.o

And yes, the best you can do for these people you know is to pray for them, since only God can change hearts.

As it has already been said, nobody can separate you from God. And what is even more amazing about God, is that once you accept him as your savior he will follow you and call you back all the more if you get lost because you are his precious child, one of his most precious jewels. And as you know, nobody ever wants to loose something precious today, that is how we are to God!
God has showed me this in my life many times. One of the times was when I was little, he always gave me someone to culture me into my faith into Christ. Finally, I accepted Christ (but God had further plans for my faith to grow), for my dad got cancer four months later and we had to move to another country with better treatment, which practicaly uprooted my whole life from my house, friends, family, pets, environment all together. As I look back at it, I believe God had a much greater plan for me. My salvation in him kept me going and believing that all things are possible. He showed me how precious of a jewel I was to him for he saved me and polished me so that I could look and be a greater testimony to others. He made me a stronger believer, and sometimes it takes some shaking up and "washing" to get you that way.

As far as the second comming of Christ, just believe and be in constant awareness of God and your actions, and then just live. I used to wait every night in fearful moments thinking that God was going to come, and I was going to be left behind. This idea scared me so much that all I did was sleep and read the Bible, however I did get a lot of spiritual wisdom from this. However, I soon realized what Jesus meant when he said to the people of his time that were quiting their jobs and waiting for the comming. He said that anyone who doesn't work, shouldn't eat. To my life that meant, if I don't live the life God has given me, then what witness will I be for others. God gave you your life so that you may live it, and I think that going to an Anime Convention is not a bad thing, but rather an opportunity for testimony as long as God is always first in your heart.

Just my two cents on the matter, ^_^
May you know that God is always with you and no matter what you try to do to get away from him, he will always call you back!!!
God bless you!

With times as they are now, I can understand your thoughts and feelings. To be so upset about the salvation of others shows a deep compassion inside of you. When it comes to the end, nobody knows when it is going to happen....Jesus himself doesn't know; he is waiting on God's call to come and get us.

Don't despair. It is true most Japanese culture doesn't agree with Christian beliefs, but so many other peoples and cultures fall into the same category. It is our job as Christians to be examples and share the news of Jesus. If you are afraid that praying isn't enough, then try to by example. It's hard....but it's about doing your best.

I am at a loss for words now....PM me if you would like to continue the conversation. Just know that it is okay to make plans for the future and to live life to the fullest.
Jeremiah 29:11-"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord,"plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Back when I was a kid, many thought it was clever to note 'Today is the first day of the rest of your life.'

Despite the cliche, the statement has a message within that Christians should always remember. Sometimes I wonder if it wasn't what the Bible is actually telling us about the imminence of the end of the world. Historians tell us that many people in Judea were obsessed over things like Messiahs and Armageddon at the time of Christ. As many have noted, they were at least two thousand years too early.

Or, were they?

You see, no matter when the actual End of Days are finished, and no matter when the defeat of the Prince of Evil is complete, the beginning of that time has already come. Your efforts as a soldier of the Lord, your faith in the Victorious Cross and your walk in the footsteps of Christ are all part of this great battle, and the sooner you put your attention on these, the better. Leave the details of the war, when this battle or that skirmish will happen, up to our heavenly Commander, and, as any good soldier does, focus on the part you can do something about-- carrying out your orders and shouldering the tasks given to you.

As for suspecting your fellow human of being a devil in disguise, if you are wrong, then you are wrongly judging a fellow sinner of something very terrible, and the devils win. My suggestion is, love your neighbor instead; don't pick and choose.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May He cause His face to shine upon you.
May He lift up His countenance and grant you peace.

Again, I thank everyone so much. I've been feeling so much better than before, and everyone's right. I will continue with my spiritual walk and work to better myself in life.
