More fires in California...

Postby Nightshade X » Sat Nov 15, 2008 8:59 am

...this time, it's serious. As far as I know, the fire is now in Sylmar, which isn't far from me, and I just now had to help some friends of mine evacuate from their home due to air quality (I assume). Please keep us in prayer for God's mercy.

There seems to be a pretty serious arsonist around now that started what is now being called the 'freeway complex fire' south of me, and another fire nearby, in addition to the aforementioned Sylmar fire. Homes are already gone in all fires, and there have been injuries. In addition, the Sylmar fire went through a mobile home park, in which they are now concerned that there may have been fatalities. They can't check until the ground cools though.

A couple of my friends are evacuated, and another in Orange County as of this afternoon might have to evacuate, but he doesn't expect his house will be damanged.

These fires are getting crazy.

Here's a google map of the affected area: LINK

I just heard on the news that the firefighters are starting to see some progress on every fire. Please remember to pray for the firefighters and their families, as well as the families being directly effected by the fire.

If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things."

My campus is safely out of harm's way, but we're close enough that it rained ash last night with a red haze in the morning.

I can only imagine how terrible this is in the affected areas.

The freeway complex merged with another fire, now is called the triangle complex fire, 2% contained.
