a friend

Postby teen4truth » Fri Dec 28, 2007 2:40 pm

I prayed for more opprotunities to influence people for God, then I met her. She ended up going to church with my family, praying the prayer of salvation in my room, and deciding to get baptized.

Then she just stopped coming to church.

When her family moved a couple hours away, I still wanted to keep in touch. I still have her on my myspace and facebook but sometimes she doesn't even reply to my comments and messages.

I asked her why she had stopped coming to church and she said she felt like everyone was trying to change her beliefs and she was not going to do that anymore. I apologized but told her that when I think I know an important truth, i'm gonna tell it to my friends and try to convince them of it.

And that's where the story is now. It hurts. like. crap. to see a friend get saved, then watch them walk away.

Please pray that before 2007 is over, she will become a Christian who is passionate and crazi for God. That's all I ask; just take ten seconds every day for what's left of this year to bring my request before God.

Will be praying! I know how it is when people try and force their beliefs on you (especially when what you believe isn't even evil and they just want you to take their side), but if her beliefs are definitely wrong, then she needs to learn to let go and join God. Just some advice, but I'd just ask her what things seem to be bothering her in particular. See if something that can be fixed somehow. ^^

I feel your pain. I've had people come to faith, and then be repulsed by the attitudes of other believers. It really hurts, and is so frustrating.

One of Jesus' most intense time of temptation was right after he was baptized, and it is often the case for us as well. Keep trying to stay in touch with her.

I will certainly be praying. Keep us updated.

The enemy obviously doesn't like the decision that she took when accepting Jesus so he'll be trying all he can to stop her. It's painfull to see a friend walk away from Jesus.I'll be praying.

How are things going by now? I encourage you to make an effort to talk to her in person. There are some things that just work better when you're physically together.

Hmm... I think it is arrogant to think you are the savior of her life. Christian is not the only path for savation. Instead of forcing your belief on her as if she knows nothing, how about asking for her input as well and discuss the bible together?

People don't go to hospital when they are healthy, just like people don't go to church when they have not fallen.

SnEptUne, I really disagree with you on some of those points, but if you would like to discuss it further then please send me a pm.

Sorry I haven't been updating! Here is the latest:

God has shown me that I can be open to be an answer to prayer by loving her...that's pretty much all I can do other than prayer, just love and support her. So anyway I called her today and we actually talked for a while! I'm actually the one who said goodbye first.

This might be a bit late, but what beliefs did she have that everyone seemed to be wanting to change? Meaning the reason she stopped going to church.

I don't really know, she didn't express them much.

She believed in God already. I think maybe it was a lot us trying to get her to actually live for God more.
