First, the good news: I got into my top college! Yay! I've really felt God telling me that this is where He wants me to go, but I'll keep praying that He makes His will clear to me.
Now, for something on a much more serious note.
This past Wednesday, when I was at my D-team meeting, my leader gave us an update on one of our girls who isn't able to show up often; her name is Jen.
Jen is a triplet (she has two brothers) and one of the brothers is in a gang in Delaware. He owed them some money, got a check from his father (or something), the check bounced and for some reason he and his mom had to drive up there. The son was driving the car and as they were going, the mother dropped her phone on the floor. While she was bent down, the son got distracted and hit a truck. The mother just flew out of the car.
She's in the hospital now with very serious injuries. Her teeth are gone, her jaw is seriously damaged, and something happened to her skull (I can't remember all the details). My leader didn't mention any sort of prognosis.
Jen has incredible faith. Well, the last time I heard her mention anything about accepting Christ she said she was thinking about it, but she makes the effort to go to church every Sunday morning (and that's hard for her because her family's a mess and she lives far away). I really haven't talked to her in awhile, so I don't know where she stands now.
Anyway, she's obviously having a very difficult time right now, so could you please keep her, her mother, and the rest of her family in your prayers? Thanks.
