A friend's son going to Iraq / My dad's back

Postby Jeikobu » Sat Sep 29, 2007 1:58 pm

My dad has known this friend who is a pastor for over 20 years. His son is all finished with his basic military training, so in two days he's is going to serve in Iraq. Please, pray hard for him that the Lord protects him.

Also, please pray for his dad. He lost his wife in about the mid-'90s I believe and he's never been the same. If his only son dies, I think it's going to crush him, and I'm not exaggerating. Please, pray hard for them both, they really need it in this time.

Finally, could you also continue to pray for my dad's back? He's still in a lot of pain (if you don't know the story, it was broken about 20 years ago). Today he would hurting so much he was pale-looking (he puts up with it very well, but he's constantly in pain) (it doesn't help though that we're getting a big weather front moving in. That always really makes his back hurt). Sometimes it's so bad it causes him to throw up. Thank God he's been approved for a special unit to be put in his back that should really reduce the pain and help a ton, but he's not scheduled to have the surgery for another month yet. Please, pray that God will work this all out to His glorious will and that He would help my dad's pain to be lower until the operation, and then that the operation would be blessed and not have any problems.

Thanks, and God bless. :)

Praying.

As for the son, my brother is in Iraq, just believe that he will make it back, and hopefully keep in touch with his father. He will be in my prayers

As for your dad, he shall also be in my prayers
Footprints in the sand by Carolyn Joyce Carty

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the lord.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of foot prints in the sand: one belonging to him the other to the lord.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the foot prints in the sand.

He noticed that name times along the path of his life there was only one set o footprints.

He also noticed that it was at the lowest and saddest times of his life.

This really bothered him and he questioned the lord about it:

"lord, you said once i decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But i have noticed during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of foot prints. I dont understand why when i needed you most you would leave me."

The lord replied:

"My son, my precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that i carried you."

Good to hear that your dad can get some relief. Praying for you all.
