This is a spin-off of Chu-Chu's post as I was unable to post any details of what happened until now.
As you all remember, Mike was to be a witness in a court trial this next week testifying against his real mother on behalf of his grandfather- the only Christian influence ha had growing up. We all know the charges brought against him were bogus and that his mom is demented.
Thursday after Fritz's class, Mike got a call from his aunt Rhonda and he had to leave Pason's class to take it because he thought they might've thrown his grandfather back into prison or something of the sort. Turns out...his grandfather died at 1:30 am Thursday morning.
He was sitting at his attorney's office and just suddenly collapsed. They rushed him to the hospital, tried to keep him alive but he faded away just like that. They did tests and there was no sign of a heart attack or a stroke (which we thought it was)...it just appears that he died of a broken heart. The trial-Mike's mother- indirectly killed him. He just could not take anymore.
Here's what ticks me off.
His attorney's were devestated. They'd worked hard on that case, taking their work home with them and everything because they could see his innocence and godliness and were so drawn to him. By law, they contacted the mother's attorney to inform her that the case was dropped and why. According to them, the mother's attorney broke down into tears and said AND I QUOTE, "We all knew he was innocent...I was just doing my job." And yet SHE pushed him and pushed him in such a way that even HIS attorney's were shocked at how harsh they were being in this case. It was no secret that the attorney was new and wanted to make a name for herself, and her selfish helped put a man to his grave. Mike's Aunt Rhonda had a FIT when she heard that and I got ticked.
Anyway, back to the story,
After Mike told me, I apologized to Dr. Parsons and we left class in a hurry. I set Mike in the library and called my house, Keiko, Mike's boss, and Charlie to inform them of what happened. Charlie came immediately to sit with Mike, closely followed by our friend Kyle who happened to be mulching right next to where I was making calls. We talked to the Dean and he gave us permission to take all the time off we needed and Kyle and Jeff offered to drive us down with one of them driving Mike's car so Mike wouldn't have to drive. They took us ti get some pizza then dropped us off at Mike's old house that his dad still owns which is just 5 blocks away from his grandparents.
We spent all day with his grandma and Aunt mourning and making decisions and calls and organizing things. His grandmother's aged about 5 years since I saw her on Easter, and Mike is in a pretty heavy state of shock. He was able to break down and cry a little last night, but he's been walking in a daze ever since.
If you want to contact him his lj name is destinyw13 and his lj can be found here

and I asked him to leave his lj post on the subject public in case any of you, whether you know him or not, want to say something to him. I know he'd appreciate it. His e-mail is destinywindthorn@yahoo.com and if you're from CAA just tell him that and your s/n and whatever you'd like to say.
Mike's mother and her children have been disowned practically. Police'll be at the funeral to be sure none of them show up. Mike is the only one of her kids still considered family because he was practically raised by his grandparents. I know this fact is also hard on him because even though he blames his grandfather's death on her and is so **** a her, deep down it's still his mom and he's still hurt and angry at how she abandoned him and everyone he loves.
Please keep us in your prayers. We know Mike's grandfather's in heaven as he was a very godly man and we're glad he was spared having to go through this trial and we're happy he'll never be hurt by this again, but most of us, myself included, are still in a state of shock seeing as this has happened so suddenly. Any support you can give would be greatly appreciated. God bless.
