Prayer for the agnostic girl who Iam really in love with

Postby narutofreak » Sat Jan 20, 2007 6:20 pm

The day I met her, I was so in love with her. She is naturally beautiful, not the fakey kind of beauty. She has such high morals and is so good hearted, that I was shocked to find she was an agnostic. She knows I am a christian. Both me and her at the moment have a very strong relationship as friends. We both are writing fantasy novels, and we both love fantasy and scifi novels, jrock, anime, video games, and manga. I really want her to become a christian. She really has a strong chance to become one since she has high morals. Whats wrong is the fact she feels christianity is as a whole hypocritic and unloving. She feels for example that we are being judgemental and unloving towards those who are homosexual when we sin also . I have told her that I do believe that some christians are like that, but not me and others for not all christians are that way. Which is why I believe God has led me to her, but I do not know how to approach her. Iam afraid by being too preachy, I will lose a really good friend.

Well, you're not going to convert her to Christianity by becoming something she dislikes, so yeah, I'd avoid preaching for now and just let the friendship mature. God may provide you with an inroad someday, but don't force it. If she sees that Christians can get along with others (by your example), her negative stereotype of us might wear away. Praying for this.

First of all, it is best for both of you not to enter into a romantic relationship until both of you have been Christians for a while.

In the meantime, let your life be your witness. But, be willing to talk if she wants to. Sure you will not be perfect, but be honest about your mistakes. As St. Francis of Assisi said, "Preach the gospel at all times. If necessary, use words."

“My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!â€
